Hey, y’all! I’m Kelly, the photographer behind Blackall Photography. I capture love stories, growing families, graduating seniors, confident professionals, and hardworking businesses with plenty of laughter and a little Southern charm along the way.

I fancy myself a bit of a small-business champion, too. I love helping local brands tell their stories through personality-filled headshots, corporate events, marketing photography, and images that let the people behind the business truly shine.

Basically, if it matters to you, I want to help the rest of the world see just how special it is.

 

The slightly longer story…

My photography journey began way back in the 1900s—ha! Around 1997-ish, to be exact—in the yearbook and newspaper room at Lewisville High School. Go Farmers!

That’s where I really cut my teeth on storytelling. I can still remember the smell of the developer in the darkroom and how proud I felt when a story came together through pictures and words.

In 2001, I became a certified professional wedding coordinator, and it didn’t take long for me to realize that weddings- the wonderful people, beautiful details, and unforgettable stories behind them- were exactly where I belonged.

Then, in 2008, I took a leap of faith and opened Blackall Photography, a boutique photography business right here in Old Town Lewisville.

From the excitement of a surprise proposal to the happy tears at the altar, I never get tired of telling love stories through my lens. But I believe every season deserves to be remembered: the growing family, the graduating senior, the entrepreneur building a dream, or the professional who’s finally ready for a headshot that actually feels like them.

The even longer story…

My love for photography started with my Grandpa Bear when I was about 9 or 10. He taught me how to shoot and process film, and those afternoons together are memories I’ll treasure forever. I still have a few of those old prints tucked away. They remind me that photography has never been just a job. It’s a passion, an art, and a way of holding on to life exactly as it is.

In college, one of my professors handed me my first digital camera and simply said, “Here, learn this.” So I did!

 

Faith, community, and the place I call home

My faith is a big part of who I am. I’m grateful to call Northview Baptist Church my home church; It's where I have the joy of serving as the church photographer. I love capturing the smiles, the music, the baptisms, and the sweet fellowship of our church family.

I’m still learning every day what it means to be a good and faithful servant, and I’m endlessly grateful for His grace and guidance along the way.

I’m truly just a hometown girl through and through. I grew up right here in Lewisville, and Old Town has my heart... the parades, the small businesses, the Friday night lights, and the way neighbors show up for one another. It’s small-town life with a great big heart. 

Then there’s The Cowboy.

He’s the love of my life, my biggest supporter, and my very favorite Lewisville firefighter. He may be retired from the fire service now, but the heart of a firefighter never really retires. His courage, loyalty, servant’s heart, and quiet strength are woven into the life we’ve built together.

He keeps me grounded when life gets busy, makes me laugh when I need it most, and believes in me, even on the days when I have a hard time believing in myself. He is my greatest adventure, and one of God’s very sweetest blessings.

Behind every dream I chase, every story I photograph, and every late night spent building this little business I love, you’ll find The Cowboy cheering me on. And if you ask me, that’s the greatest love story I’ll ever get to tell.
